Red Thread Journey..."An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break." Chinese Proverb

This is the story of our family: Our son Jacob, born to us 12 years ago, and Our daughter Kira (2005~2006), whom was born to us~ and now she rests in heaven before us, with my husband's eldest daughter Shelby (1990~2011). They have all three blessed our lives and souls, in many ways as their humbled parents. They have powerfully lead us through GOD'S hand to be parents of more; through their love, memory, and with the help of adoption from China. We have now come complete circle and have finished our journey to family forever, to adopt our 3...uhhhhh now 4th...no... it is our 5th beloved child from China. Our first China daughter; Hannah was from Guangdong, China ~ in 2008 and we then returned to China in late 2009 to adopt Our oldest son; Scott and Our oldest daughter; Athena, both from Henan, China ~ in 2009. We just finished the process of adopting our youngest daughter; Bella from China, she was also from Henan, China ~ in 2011. At the same time we were blessed to be able to have found another waiting daughter; Deanna, our 4th china daughter, and she is our 5th child from China. She is from Guangdong, China--same as our first China daughter; Hannah (2008) --& the story behind Deanna joining us is way too long to print it all here, but our circle of forever family is complete with her ~in 2011. {Here is just an exerpt of that special final adoption journey}-- Deanna is our 1st adopted daughter's foster sister from Guangdong, China. She is now the same age as our 1st adopted daughter was when we were first united as a forever family. Deanna's Chinese name means: 'perfect, precious circle'.} Our family circle is now complete. Pray with us as we enjoy parenthood, and as we continue to rejoice in the trials, triumphs, and blessings that have lead us each time halfway around the world to add to our cherished family. This is our family we share with you, as friends and family alike.

Vacation: Day 4

Today we went to the Wildlife Preserve in the Wichita Mountains.
We were able to see some wildlife, even in the 103+ degree heat. Buffalo & Longhorns. We drove around the lake and had lunch at a local inn. After lunch, ...later on in evening we attended a BBQ!!! at the home of the grandparents' friend. (Yes, we did EAT... on VACATION... A LOT) :o)
And we saw some amazing hummingbirds.
Well, according to Hannah, ...The "OMG Hummingbirds"!
Later that night, we returned to the same general area,
to take in the fireworks show ~ out over the lake.

Vacation: Day 2&3

We arrived on Day 2 in OK after 12pm, so after a little lunch with the grandparents and neighbors... we went window shopping & took in a movie at the mall "ICE AGE 3"!!!
We had some pool time that night at the hotel with the kids.
The start of Day 3... was an early morning 9 holes of Golf for the guys.
Later that day we did another movie, "Transformers 2"!!! and more pool time.
Did I mention it is 103+ degrees in OK. :o\

Grandpa let Jacob drive this golf cart,... uhhh; no one told mommy until the next day ;o).

Vacation: Day 1

As you can see, I got some pretty~scary travel partners. We set forth on our trip at noon after the kids got out of summer school.
"Is it too much to ask Ash to drive with both hands?" Look ma, no hands! ;o)Pretty girl!Scary!Oh good, cute again! The drive ~ pig farms, cow farms, chicken farms, corn farms, soybean farms...
and Windmill Farms! All that silliness has a price to pay... it's called sleep.
Trust me, that was the Best part of the day. :)

SummerTime in Colorado

Just as we were getting into the van... I looked outside and yelled for the kids to hurry, come look!
Ashley then proceeded to yell at me to hurry, get the camera!!! :)
A closer look; you can tell they were checking us out too.
It's not surprising though,... as loud as Hannah was yelling "Balloon!"

The last document we needed made all of it's rounds this month; It was officially Notarized, Certified, & Authenticated. Our I-797C is on it's way to our Adoption Agency as of today... and from there... to China baby, for LID! (= Log In Date: The official date that China recognizes a family, as a family wanting to adopt.) That would be little ol' us, again! :o)
Update: 6/26/09
We found out today, that our agency has mailed our Dossier To China. {DTC)

Ladybug Sighting

Ladybugs:Ladybugs are believed to be good luck in the adoption community. Several years ago, while numerous people waited for their referrals, there was a huge infiltration of ladybugs across the nation. Immediately following the ladybug sightings, a flood of referrals came in for many of the waiting parents. Many people now believe that when a ladybug is seen, a referral is not far behind.
~
When you're having a biological child, you KNOW you are expecting all along the way and you get to hear the baby's heartbeat and see him/her on the ultrasound monitor, you can count the weeks of pregnancy, you begin to feel the baby move and of course your body changes daily. With the adoption process, we wait and wait with no confirmation (except a pile of government forms & an email from our agency to download another newsletter), until we get a referral. And as our friends and loved ones already have shared with us; a referral is only the beginning on the Special Needs Journey. Then, it's faith and hope that get us through, along with lots of prayers, doctors and "thoughts for "WISDOM" to guide us" on the right path to our next child (children)... and a few days like today when it feels a little more "real"... maybe even a step closer. A cloud is lifted... and we suddenly spot a Lovely Ladybug. Update: Today as I signed the two kiddos up for Swimming Lessons III... I saw and held a live ladybug outside the local Park & Rec. Swimming Pool; I happily sung the little ladybug chant to her (?) LOL... and she flew away. :o)
